I used to believe burnout was just part of the job.

But behind the long shifts and patient smiles, I was falling apart. I was pushing my fiancé away, snapping at him for things that weren’t his fault because I had nothing left in the tank. I’d sit in my car after the worst shifts of my life, binge eating just to feel some ounce of joy.

I was 30 pounds heavier, dependent on Lexapro, and living in constant pain from a severe back injury all by 20 years old. I didn’t even recognize myself anymore.

I told myself, “this is just what healthcare life is.”
Until I decided it wasn’t.

I rebuilt my life one step at a time, starting with the way I treated myself.

Sure, I lost those 30 pounds and healed my relationship with food, but most importantly, stopped letting a broken system decide what I deserved.

Now? I feel strong in my scrubs, confident in my skin, energized in my body and thriving in the marriage I almost lost to burnout.

I created this reset because I know I’m not the only one who’s felt stuck in survival mode.
